Now playing : Sugababes - Ugly

News of the day, Thierry Henry going to Barcelona. It's bye bye Arsenal. I wonder when will MU get a really good striker. Still waiting...I miss Ruud Van Nistelrooy and also Henrik Larrson eventhough he was there for only 3 months.
Oh, there is something that I forgot to do that is long overdue:
REAL MADRID ARE CHAMPIONS!!!
MANCHESTER UNITED ARE CHAMPIONS!!!

This was one of the best football seasons ever apart from when MU won the the treble in 1999. Nothing could beat that feeling.

Dreams, jam and omellete

Now playing : Dixie Chicks - Taking The Long Way Around

Thank God it's Friday! I woke up this morning following a nice dream. I can't remember what it was but it felt nice. Since I'm on the topic of dreams right now, did you realise..or maybe it's just me, that while I'm sleeping with a full bladder, of course I wouldn't realise I'm having a full bladder. Anyway, in such a situation I will always get dreams of me searching high and low for toilets. In my dreams, I've been to the best toilets ever and the worst ones also. I've been to exclusive looking washrooms as well as some really dirty looking toilets like the ones I used to have in my school. Awful! I guess the mind subconsciously plays out the scene for you depending on your feeling at the moment.
So, where was I? Oh yes, I woke up from a nice dream and prepared myself for work. Today was just usual, problems still unsolved..yada yada yada. My colleague sent me a link to a mind boggling, intelligence (or lack of) testing game and it has about 20 levels, I'm stuck at level 9. It's pretty fun. After lunch I was talking to my friend about where I was stuck and then we sort of went through it together for a couple of minutes till level 9 and I tuned out because I had other things to do suddenly. Anyway, the puzzle at level 9 is "Numbers of emergency calls". The clue is "Don't press repeatedly" So what is it? 911? 999? 9? 0? None of it is correct. Help me out here if you can.
Today is also a day of traffic jams. We were on our way to Tesco for lunch and the road in front of Queensbay was jammed. Why? Police road block, as always they like to do it and the wrong place at the wrong time. After work, everywhere was jammed such as coastal road, the elevated highway and even Yeap Chor Ee was bumper-to-bumper. Day of strawberry jam. When I got back home, I was busy checking my office mails because I was waiting for an email and I had a sudden craving for omellete again (I was thinking of eggs after having a brief email chat with Peen in the morning about food), so I made myself a ham omellette. Yummy.. My Friday has almost effectively come to a close. Hope you had a great one!

Classic Human Nature

Now playing : Human Nature - Midnight Train To Georgia

Just when I thought that I would not be getting any new stuff from Human Nature as I've not heard of them since they released their album 2 years ago "Walk the tightrope"..then...I stumbled upon this piece of news recently. They DID release 2 new albums after that and apparently it's quite successful especially in the land down under. 1 in 2005 and another in 2006 and they are still together. These 2 albums are fantastic. They are covers of all those great Motown classics which I used to always listen to on the radio such as Baby I Need Your Loving and also this song which I used to deem as annoying after hearing it on the radio over and over by the original singer - Heard It Through the Grapevine. Human Nature's version has made me like this song now. Other great songs on the album are my all-time favourite song My Girl (I think this was Four Tops's original song), Jackson 5's I'll Be There, If You Don't Know Me By Now.
The followup album "Dancing In The Streets" is part 2 of the classics collection. These 2 albums are making me so excited. It has those awesome songs such as the ever catchy Ain't No Mountain High Enough...'coz baby there's ain't no mountain high enough, ain't no valley low enough, ain't no river wide enough..'. Their take on the song ABC was a little odd though because this song sounds more suitable for high pitched teenagers to sing. Other songs are Midnight Train To Georgia (I've loved this song for a long time), What Becomes of The Broken Hearted (Vonda Shepard also made a version of this for the Ally McBeal show, it's a great song), Please Mr Postman (this is a golden oldie, man!), the ever catchy Sugar Pie Honey Bunch song and they even have You Can't Hurry Love which was sung by Diana Ross from the Supremes a long time ago. This is so good, all my favourite classic songs sung by one of the greatest group from Australia ever.

Did you know

Now playing : Chris Cornell - Billie Jean

Did you know …

that for some people, as they grow older they don't grow wiser, the probability of one to be a troublemaking-pain-in-the-ass is much higher

that 1 light year is 6 trillion miles in distance. The news on the star that exploded in supernova somewhere is the galaxy is 78 million light years away.
1 light year = 6 trillion miles
So, 78 million light years = 6 trillion miles x 78 million … you do the math.

that words are powerful. Even if the words were constructed in a way that is not meant to spoil one’s reputation but unintentionally constructed in less than satisfactory vocabulary, it sounded like one is accused of not doing one’s work which is not true.

that any type of cooked egg puts a smile on my face, be it scrambled egg, poached egg, sunny-side up style egg, half-boiled egg, hard-boiled egg, omellete, steamed egg and the list goes on. I’m a sucker for it.

that most human bladders can hold up to 400cc of … pee before the need to burst. I don’t know how true is that or my friend is just pulling my leg. Start measuring your water intake and let me know.

that most drivers of sports cars in this country are not really the ‘eye-candy’ that matches the car. Picture this, you see the sports car, you go ‘Wow!’. The driver stops and steps out, you give a soft grunt ‘Oh’ and you turn away.

that the upstairs portion of McD Greenlane where the play area is located is like a ‘horror house in a themepark’. We can constantly hear the screams of children echoing down the stairs to where we are sitting on the ground floor. Don’t go up there…it’s a war zone. Screaming kids are scary.

Have a nice life.

My week in writing

Now playing : Jewel - Drive To You

By the way, I want to take this opportunity to wish Lynn all the best in her dragon boat race heats.

Four days had passed since my last post. I can’t even remember what I did on Tuesday & Wednesday. I guess it’s nothing important since it didn’t register in my memory. On Thursday my colleagues treated me to a Mcdonalds lunch and Secret Recipe chocolate brownie cake. There are a lot birthdays coming up this month. Next week, 3 of my colleagues are celebrating their birthdays. At the end of the month, 2 of my best friends from school are celebrating theirs and they are both in KL. The 3 of us (me, Soon Yee and Yee Leng) had a combo party years ago at Yee Leng’s apartment down by the swimming pool. That was pretty cool. I remember I made mash potatoes and probably someone said it tasted nice. Or maybe I thought someone said that. Haha!

Later Thursday night I watched a very nice movie. The movie is called Goal!...it’s about football obviously and has some cameo appearances by David Beckham, Zidane, Raul, Alan Shearer and the Chelsea team (pewk!). Anyway the actor that played the character Santiago Munez is real cute and despite all the hunks appearing here and there in the movie, it still maintained a reasonably good, predictable but good storyline. Even my mum who was busy reading the newspaper was into the movie. She was like…isn’t that David Beckham? Of course she only knows that guy. If she were to ask me isn’t that Raul? I will faint…

Friday wasn't a very hectic day and my mind was all over the place. One moment I’m doing my work, the next I’m thinking about the novel I was reading halfway the night before and another minute I was thinking of the 2 weeks I spent in the US and frankly, I miss it. Eventhough it’s only 2 weeks that I spent there but I actually like it there. It’s not a bad place to stay and there are so many things, so many places to see, see it once and I still want to see it again and again. I see people roller skating and jogging beside an open busy road, I remember the cool air that keeps blowing in my face. I like San Francisco and I miss the environment there. It’s a happening place but yet it’s a cosy place. Kinda like a mixture of peace, serenity and hip hop.
Anyway, now that it's Saturday...this morning I went for facial in Gurney. Gosh..it was quite nice. And right now I'm suppose to go for a hair cut but up till now I can't decide what kind of style I want to go for yet or whether I just want to leave it long, so I have to postpone my hair experiment to another day. Besides I'm not in the mood. It's almost 4pm now and there goes another Saturday. Time to continue reading my novel - Princess by Jean Sasson.

Boring Sunday

I'm thinking deeply and thoroughly. What the heck did I even do today? Let's see...I woke up 5 minutes before 10am. Then I sat around reading the newspaper and waiting for lunch time. Oh yes, and I read that Beckham brought glory, magic, 'oomph' and Beckham-mania back into the England squad. I guess he usually triumphs at come-backs such as his come back after the 1998 world cup trauma to help MU win the treble, his come back to help Real Madrid to the top of the table, his come back to put a little edge into the England team. Without him, they are just boring.
Later in the afternoon, I was in Metrojaya and I was looking around for a vintage alarm clock. You know, those clocks with the 2 bells on top...bahh...just look at the picture and you know what I mean. I've been meaning to get this kind of clock for years now until my friend told me that Ikea sells one which looks very vintage and nice. But I didn't get a chance to visit Ikea..so too bad. Anyway I found this one, it comes in 3 colours - black, red and white. The alarm is too loud so I don't use it but I just like to look at it. It makes me sigh with joy. I know that's weird but these kind of clocks are pretty! Oh and it doesn't come with the car. Just adding a little vintage feel to it. :)
Hmm...I spent my night reading a bit of Jean Sasson's Princess and playing NHL on my computer. Something's not the same with me anymore. I could spend hours playing games last time. Now, 10 minutes into the game and I'm already fed-up and thinking of uninstalling it. My patience keeps wearing thin over the years. Well, what the hell..Monday is holiday.

Happy 1st of June

Happy 1st of June 2007!
Network problem. Due to that, I had to do some recovery. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. My posts are so laced with elements of work. It’s like my life only revolves around the same thing everyday. Yet I can’t deny that it does.
On Thursday I had a real frustrating day but come night time, I ended up being in a good mood that I forgot all the troubles at work. Ha ha! The good vibe was due to my dinner date with Peen and Lynn. We went to Sakae Sushi. Hmm..delicious sushi. The salmon sushi was cheap and yummy. Even the salmon skin temaki was cheap and good. Of course there is slightly less salmon skin but still enough to make me happy because it is like 2 or 3 times cheaper than most of the restaurants that sell this. Sushi king…eat yer hearts out!
While I was in Queensbay, I was browsing around in Borders and found this Anne Rice’s vampire collection books. 3 books in 1 which is the Interview With The Vampire, Vampire Lestat and Queen of The Damned. Interesting…I have this fetish for vampire stories but yet I don’t dare to watch vampire movies. Vampire stories tend to come in trilogies or so. I wonder why. I have the vampire trilogy by Nora Roberts. :P And I going to add this into my collection.
